"The player is ready to join us and that’s why we have opened official talks with his club."

Al-Morsi joined Zamalek from Mansoura in January, but failed to impress with Michel Decastel's side during the second half of the season.

Meanwhile, Ittihad are also believed to be on their way to snapping up Ivorian midfielder Mohamed Koffi from Petrojet.
