Egypt talisman Mohamed Abou-Treika said that the upcoming tie with the US is more important than the recent clashes with world heavyweights Brazil and Italy.

The African champions will meet a point-less US side on Sunday, in an attempt to secure a sensational berth to the semi-finals.

Despite two magnificent displays against Brazil and Italy, Abou-Treika believes that failure against the US would shatter the Egyptian's earlier success.

"The game against the United States is even more important than the ones against Italy and Brazil, if I were being honest," the Ahli ace told the pre-match conference.

"If we don't win against the Americans, our victory over Italy will be rendered largely meaningless. This is a decisive game and we must be ready for a fight,"

Egypt need a win over the Americans, hoping for an Italy stumble against Brazil in the other Group B game.
