Ahli's football committee have announced the appointment of Hadi Khashaba as the club's new football director.

The club's official website confirmed that the former Ahli and Egypt man will be assisted by recently-retired sweeper Emad Al-Nahhas.

The announcement comes one day after Ahli chose former assistant Hossam Al-Badri to be the Red Devils' new coach following the departure of Manuel Jose.

Alaa Mayhoub, who was part of Jose's staff, will now assist Al-Badri, while former club defender Mohamed Youssef will take the former's role.

Goalkeepers' coach Ahmed Nagi will be the only staff member to remain in the role he occupied while Jose was at the club.

Ahli have previously reached an agreement with Nelo Vingada to take over the club, before the Portuguese coach backtracked on his deal with the club last week.

Al-Badri, who is the first Egyptian to take over Ahli since Anwar Salama in 1993, worked as Jose's assistant for five seasons.
