Brazilian playmaker Denilson made one appearance, scored a goal and decided to leave Vietnam's Hai Phong Cement due to an injury problem.

The Vietnamese Football Federation announced that the 31-year-old, who amazed local fans with his move last month, is set to end his brief spell.

"One more time, fans were as shocked as his surprise appearance a few days ago," a report from the VFF said.

Denilson made his debut against Hoang Anh Gia Lai on Sunday after missing the first two games due to a leg injury.

The 2002 World Cup champion found the net with a freekick early in the game, before being forced off in the second half.

Denilson, who was once the world's most expensive footballer, has gradually failed to coax into European football, thanks to his continuous injuries.
