Vidic ditched Real, Barca and Milan for United

Manchester United defender Nemanja Vidic revealed that he rejected offers from world giants Real Madrid, Barcelona and AC Milan to stay at Old Trafford.

The Serbian international is currently one of the best centre-backs in the whole world, and his displays over the last couple of seasons caught everybody's attentions.

"I got offers from Milan, Barcelona and Real Madrid and I played a very honest game - I disclosed all these offers to my boss Sir Alex," Vidic told The Sun.

"Ferguson reacted quickly. I was told he was raising my pay to bring it to the level where my reputation is in the Premier League and Europe.

Vidic added that Spanish and European champions Barcelona wanted to pay £30 million for his services, but his stayed at United against his wife's will.

"My wife Ana is unhappy with our lifestyle in Manchester but I am not going to change my mind as I am happy with the team and Manchester and the club's ambition for next season," he added.

The 27-year-old has already played over 100 games for United since he joined the Red Devils from Spartak Moscow in 2006.
