Brazil playmaker Diego signed for the Turin side late in May from Werder Bremen after prolonged negotiations between both clubs.
The number 10 was Diego's first choice, but when he failed to secure it he took comfort from picking 28, as '2+8=10'.
"I can't wait to get on to the pitch," in Spanish stated Diego, who's yet to improve his Italian.
"It is a great honour for me to play for Juventus. I put the Juventus shirt on for the first time today and it was a special feeling."
The number 28 was previously put on by Fabio Cannavaro, who has returned to the Old Lady this summer from Real Madrid.
Left-back Cristian Molinaro used to wear the same number either.
On the other hand, Amauri has decided to change his number in the close season.
The Brazilian-born ace, who was wearing the number 8 jersey, opted for the number 11 which belonged to retired winger Pavel Nedved.
"It is a great honour to wear the number which belonged to Pavel Nedved," Amauri told Juventus' official website.
When asked about signing Diego, Amauri said: "I am happy about his arrival and I hope he can do even better then he did last year. Certainly, he will be adding to our quality."
