Abou-Treika to decide on future

Mohamed Abou-Treika is set to convene with coach Hossam Al-Badri on Tuesday before making any decisions regarding the playmaker's future.

Several reports recently linked Abou-Treika with a summer move to Ahli Dubai for a massive sum of EGP20 million.

However, the Red Devils' marketing director Adli Al-Qaeyi told Dream TV that the Cairo club are yet to receive any official offers from the Emirati side.

"Abou-Treika is not just a player at Ahli, he is the club's leader and superstar and we can't let him leave without thoroughly considering such decision," Al-Qaeyi said.

"All we received was just verbal offer and the player himself needs to decide what he wants before we allow him to leave or stay."

Return to trainings

In the meantime, Abou-Treika underwent a training session at the club on Monday for the first time since last season's conclusion.

The 30-year-old, who didn’t take part in Ahli's Germany training camp, was given a ten-day rest after playing for Egypt in the Confederation Cup and against Rwanda.

Other Ahli internationals Wael Gomaa and Sayed Moawad also took part in the session, as the trio is being prepared to play for Ahli in the Wembley Cup.

The Egypt players were joined by summer signings Mohamed Khalaf, Alaa Shaaban and Wael Shafik.

Ahli will play in the friendly Wembley Cup, where they will face European champions Barcelona and Glasgow Celtic of Scotland between July 24th and 26th.
