The Togo hitman, who spent three-and-a-half seasons at Arsenal, has been reportedly valued at £25 million.

Adebayor, 25, has notched 16 goals for the Gunners last term, which prompeted AC Milan and Chelsea to bid for his services along with the Citizens.

According to City manager Mark Hughes, the details of the deal are yet to be worked out.

"There have been discussions and possibly a deal to be done but nothing has been concluded," he said.

Nouveau riche City have just completed the signing of Argentina marksman Carlos Tevez for about £25 million, and they are aiming to bring in more stars in the close season.

"It may well be that opportunities will present themselves. We still have areas we want to strengthen," Hughes added.
