Juventus skipper Alessandro Del Piero has extended his contract with the Old Lady untill 2011.

"I can confirm my happiness and my pride with this agreement and to be here for a further year," he said.

"It's a great motivation for me as I have always worked hard and I have the will to do my best.

"I am at one of the biggest clubs in Europe and I am delighted. It was a quick deal I want to turn more pages with the club.

"I hope I can continue to play well. I was hoping for the renewal and I was expecting it as I know the deep will of this club to be first and I thought there would be no problems with the renewal and I have always had trust from the club."

Del Piero, whose previous deal was to expire by the end of next season, has been plying his trade at Juventus since 1993.

During his glittering 15-season spell, the 34-year-old netted 263 goals for the Turin side in 617 games and helped them claim a multitude of titles.

No Retirement

Former Padova man Del Piero assured that he has no intention of retiring after his new deal run out, and expressed his desire to represent Italy again.

"Will I retire after 2011? No, I will be here then like I am now and we will see what happens when we get to that stage," the World Cup Winner stated.

"The World Cup? I have not heard from Lippi. It would be nice going to the World Cup as it would mean I would have had a good season and I would have the chance to defend the trophy with my national side, but it's Lippi's decision."
