Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti confirmed that his side held talks with Barcelona over a possible swap deal involving Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Samuel Eto'o.

Spanish and European champions Barcelona are interested in luring Sweden striker Ibrahimovic to the Nou Camp while Serie A winners Inter eye a move for Cameroon hitman Eto'o.

Barcelona midfielder Aleksandr Hleb, who was handed limited opportunities with the Catalans last season, could be also included in the deal.

Inter have already agreed to sell Brazilian left-back Maxwell to Barcelona.

"We spoke about Maxwell and Hleb but also Ibrahimovic and Eto’o, who are two players of the same level in my opinion," Moratti was quoted as saying by La Gazzetta dello Sport on Friday.

"This does not mean we’ll sell (Ibrahimovic). Naturally, if the deal really did come to a conclusion, Eto'o is a player we’d want to include in the operation."

Inter have signed Genoa duo Diego Milito and Thiago Motta so far this summer.

Barcelona are yet to make their first off-season signing but reports said they were close to wrapping up a deal for Palmeiras striker Keirrison.
