Egypt keeper Essam Al-Hadari revealed on Friday that he gave up his dues in order to finalize his move from Switzerland's Sion to Ismaili.

"Sion chairman Christian Constantin asked me to give up the $100,000 they owe me," Al-Hadari told his website.

"I accepted his request because I desperately wanted to join Ismaili."

The veteran goalie, who joined Sion without the consent of his former club Ahli in February 2008, played a key role in helping his side claim the Swiss Cup title last season.

However, he opted to cut short his European spell and return to Egypt to play for Ahli's fierce rivals Ismaili.

"I fully respect Ahli and their fans, but I'm now an Ismaili player and I will do my best to help them compete for honors next season," Al-Hadari added.

"We have three trophies to fight for, I hope Ismaili fans will flood the stadium to support their team in every game."

The 36-year-old was initially handed a four-month ban by FIFA's Dispute Resolution Chamber for violating his Ahli contract last year.

The suspension was due to begin in August but the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) froze it upon Al-Hadari's appeal.
