Bordeaux striker Marouane Chamakh was left furious after his club board rejected an offer from Arsenal to buy him.

The Ligue 1 champions received an offer from Arsenal for Chamakh's services, but the Gunners saw their £5 million bid rejected by Bordeaux.

Club president Jean-Louis Triaud said that what Arsenal offered was ridiculous and Chamakh isn’t happy the approach was turned down.

"I am angry, I am disgusted and I do not understand why they have done that," the Moroccan international told L'Equipe.

"One thing is certain, I will not be signing a new contract - if they will not let me go now, I will leave for free.

Arsenal's offer came after Bordeaux dismissed an inquiry for Chamakh from Sunderland, claiming that the striker is too good to move to the Black Cats.

"I was told that Sunderland is not the club for me. But since when does a club chose the future of a player?" he wondered.

"Then my bosses tell me they will let me go to one of the 'Big Four' like Arsenal but when the Gunner's offer came it was refused because they want a bigger fee.

"Everything is being done to prevent my move, I do not understand given how much service I have given to Bordeaux," Chamakh concluded.
