They lost 2-0 to Juventus and 1-0 to arch-rivals Inter Milan in 45-minute games on Friday.

"I understand that the bad results attract attention, but I’m sure we'll have a good season," Leonardo told La Gazzetta dello Sport on Saturday.

Milan were widely criticized for failing to sign high-profile players during the close season.

They brought in American defender Oguchi Onyewu, Dutch striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and Italian keeper Flavio Roma.

"We've had some problems managing the squad, which is not too big and we've had some injuries. The evaluations should be made when we're all here."
