Gaish registered their first Egyptian Premier League win on Sunday after defeating Ittihad 3-1 in Alexandria.

An own goal from Mahmoud Sobhi put the military side upfront only on six minutes, before Ernest Papa Arko doubled their slender lead five minutes after the half-hour mark.

Salah Amin killed off Ittihad with a third strike shortly after the interval.

Mohamed Gaber scored Ittihad's consolation goal seven minutes from the final whistle upon converting a penalty kick.

Gaish, who drew with Arab Contractors and lost to Harras Hodoud in their first two matches, are now in fifth place on four points.

The majority of the home side's spectators chanted aggressive slogans, calling on Ittihad head coach Taha Besri to step down from his role.

The coastal side claimed only one point from three matches, having lost to Petrojet and drawn with Arab Contractors in their first couple of games.

Elsewhere, Masri succumbed to their second league defeat in three games after losing 3-1 at home to Police Union.

Reda Al-Azab and Samuel Kyere set the match alight after scoring for Police on 23 and 25 minutes respectively.

Ahmed Shedid revived Masri's hopes on 35 minutes after pulling one back, but a late strike from Ahmed Duiedar gave the visitors a well-earned win.

Asyut Petroleum, who drew in their previous couple of games, played out a goalless draw with Ghazl Mahalla.
