Lescott signed a five-year contract with the Citizens in a deal worth around £ 22million.

"I'm over the moon to get the move completed, and I'm looking forward to training with the lads as I've not trained for a few days," Lescott told City's official site.

"The way this club is moving on, I'm really looking forward to being a part of that."

Lescott was keen to move to City before the season started, but Everton were reluctant to let him go.

The 27-year-old joins a list of prominent newcomers to the City of Manchester this summer, including Gareth Barry, Carlos Tevez, Emmanuel Adebayor and Kolo Toure.
