French playmaker Ribery admitted on Tuesday that his relationship with Van Gaal, who took over at Bayern in the close season, was not so warm.

"It's the first time that I haven't really felt close to a coach. There's not much feeling between us at all," he said in an interview with French paper L'Equipe.

However, Rummenigge believes such comments will not tarnish the relationship between Ribery and Dutchman Van Gaal.

"I know from the player and the coach that there is no problem between them," he told Germany's Kicker magazine.
