Real Madrid winger Cristiano Ronaldo will need two more weeks on the sidelines in order to fully recuperate from his ankle injury and make his comeback, the Spanish giants announced.

The Portuguese wizard sustained the injury in September, and was tipped to get back in action in less than one week.

However, doctor Niek van Dijk, who treated the same ankle last year, conducted medical tests a couple of days ago and the results indicated that Ronaldo needs more time to reach full recovery.

Consequently, the 24-year-old was confirmed out of Portugal's World Cup playoff matches against Bosnia on November 14th and 18th in Lisbon and Zenica respectively.

Ronaldo hasn't featured for Real over the past seven games, and will most likely miss their trip to city rivals Atletico Madrid on Saturday.
