"FIFA is currently reviewing all of the reports and documentation related to the Egypt-Algeria match," the FIFA statement read.

"Until this process has been finalized, FIFA will not be able to make any comment or provide details on this procedure. FIFA needs to be able to establish all of the facts of the situation.

"FIFA would like to once again make an appeal to all football fans and to the entire football family, and in particular to all of those involved in this match, to show a spirit of fair play and responsibility in order to help avoid any incidents."

The fierce competition between the North African neighbors for a place in South Africa 2010 was marred by a state of unrest in both countries.

Amid the vicious events, the Algerians were furious to see two of their players injured in an alleged attack on the team bus in Cairo at the weekend, with a notion urging FIFA to cancel Egypt's 2-0 win.
