Sanchez Flores felt sick on Monday and tests confirmed he has picked up the virus, which means he will be under a special treatment.

Atletico said that assistant manager Fran Escriba will be in charge of the team temporarily as he could assume Sanchez Flores' tasks in Saturday Liga clash with Deportivo.

Sanchez Flores has been appointed Atletico manager last month in place of the sacked Abel Resino, following the team's poor start to the season.
