The 26-year-old sustained a hamstring injury late in November during the Cairo giants' 1-0 win at Petrojet in the Egyptian Premier League.

Meteb is determined to feature against Zamalek and he's making tangible progress towards recovery, the Ahli site reported.

The Egypt international missed the defending champions' last couple of league games against Arab Contractors and Ittihad.

Apart from Meteb, Ahli have a good number of regulars on the sidelines through injury, including influential midfield duo Mohamed Abou-Treika and Mohamed Barakat.

Meteb has scored eight goals against Zamalek throughout his career.
