Zamalek had to change their traditional white shorts to avoid becoming similar to arch-rivals Ahli, who hosted the game which ended goalless at Cairo Stadium.

They eventually wore green shorts which did not belong to Adidas manufactures, prompting the giant company to send a fax to the club and threaten to terminate the deal that was signed in the summer of 2008.

"We will hold an investigation into that incident," Zamalek board member Ibrahim Youssef told FilGoal.com.

"We will punish whoever responsible for what happened, this is not acceptable."
