Zamalek are at loggerheads with the EFA for upholding Hodoud's 2-1 league victory over them although the Alexandrian club fielded an ineligible player.

Egypt forward Ahmed Eid, who should have been suspended, took part in the game and scored the opener to help Hodoud claim all three points.

Zamalek were infuriated by the EFA ruling, their chairman Mamdouh Abbas launching a vicious attack on the Egyptian governing body, branding their members as 'rats'.

EFA chairman Samir Zaher said Abbas would be punished for his comments, sparking an outcry among Zamalek fans who believe their team are being mistreated.

The White Knights' faithful, who were surrounded by police, hurled insults against the EFA members and threw some stones at the headquarters.

Zamalek coach Hossam Hassan was heavily criticized by local media for saying that the fans 'would do anything to preserve the club's rights'.
