Egypt and Ismaili regular guardian Al-Hadari handed in a transfer request after Al-Merreikh said they were interested in signing him in January.

Sobhi, who was reluctant to prolong his contract which will run out at the end of the season, quickly expressed his wish to stay put.

"The idea of leaving Ismaili did not cross my mind," He told FilGoal.com on Friday.

"I will probably pen the new deal soon. Just minor details need to be sorted out."

Sobhi was linked with move to Ismaili's arch-rivals Ahli but the Egyptian champions eventually opted to sign Gouna keeper Sherif Ekrami.

The 28-year-old, a one-club man who was promoted to Ismaili's first team in 2001, used to be the team's first-choice custodian but a string of poor displays during the past two seasons prompted the club to sign Al-Hadari.
