Petrojet coach Mokhtar Mokhtar has once again turned down an approach from Ahli to sign playmaker Walid Soliman.

Ahli have been long-term admirers of the talented schemer but failed in their attempts to tempt Petrojet into selling him.

They have renewed their interest and enquired about his availability, only to be rebuffed by Mokhtar.

"The coach insisted that he wants to keep hold of me," Soliman told FilGoal.com late on Thursday.

"It's a lifelong dream for me to join Ahli; I made lots of efforts to convince Petrojet to let me go.

"But if they remain unwilling to allow me to join Ahli, I will still honor my contract which expires in 2012."

Soliman made Egypt's provisional squad for the African Cup of Nations but missed out on the final one.

He did not impress in the first half of the season, with reports saying his desire to join Ahli is unsettling him.

The 26-year-old was also fined by Petrojet for skipping training for eight days.
