Ahli are still on the lookout for a foreign marksman after their attempts to land Stephen Worgu from Merreikh doomed to failure.
"We are aiming to sign an African striker this winter, but we haven't found what we are looking for yet," Red Devils' football director Hadi Khashaba told the club's official website.
Ahli were once close to landing Worgu but the 20-year-old turned down their offer despite his desperation to move away from Sudan.
The Cairo side handed trials to a number of hitmen of late but none of them lived up to expectations.
Ahli now have five strikers in Emad Meteb, Mohamed Fadl, Hani Al-Egeizi, Francis Doe, Mohamed Talaat as well as want-out duo Osama Hosni and Ahmed Belal.
