The Ittihad ace stole the limelight in the 2010 African Cup of Nations by hitting five goals in six games, including the decisive winner against Ghana, to help the Egypt retain their title in Angola.
With some European clubs reportedly interested, Geddo would love to play abroad but hopes to wear the red shirt otherwise.
"Of course I hope to play in Europe, it would be a good move for my career," the 26-year-old forward was quoted by the Arabic version of CNN.
"But in Egypt I prefer Ahli because I have been a fan since my childhood."
When asked about his similarity with Abou-Treika, Geddo replied: "I think it is an unfair comparison because Abou-Treika is an icon in Egypt and Africa."
"It is too early for me. I have just started my international career. I hope to come close to Abou-Treika's standard."
Injury Concern
Despite his near-perfect campaign, Geddo revealed that he wasn’t 100% fit in Angola 2010.
"I was struggling to overcome a knock, but with the help of the competent medical staff I was able to play and contribute to the victory," he added.
Geddo hasn’t started a single game for Egypt since making his debut in December 2009, yet he is on a staggering record of six goals in eight caps.
