The Mansoura-born player moved to the Alexandrian side last summer on a season-long loan from the White Knights.
Al-Morsi, who will be a free agent in several months, revealed a strong intention of returning to Zamalek.
"Early this season, (Zamalek's youth ranks director) Mahmoud Saad asked me to get back to Zamalek after finishing my loan spell at Ittihad," he told FilGoal.com.
Saad was a first-team technical staff member at the time.
"I really want to play for Zamalek again, and I've already informed Ittihad of my plans."
The 27-year-old was landed by the Cairo club in the winter of 2009, but couldn't establish himself as a regular starter last term.
Zamalek will most probably be looking to shore up their frontline next summer to fill the void left by the departure of duo Amr Zaki and Mido.
Ittihad will host Zamalek in the Egyptian Premier League on Monday; a game that is expected to be ill-tempered.
The home fans are widely expected to be aggressive because of the judicial dispute between both clubs over Mohamed Nagi 'Geddo'.
"I'm really eager to prove my worth against Zamalek. This game is an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for me," Al-Morsi added
"I will opt for Ittihad next season should the anticipated move to Zamalek fall through."
