Ittihad forward Mohamed Nagi 'Geddo' is aiming to play European Champions League football next season as he hopes to join French giants Lyon.

According to Ittihad chairman Mohamed Moselhi, Lyon bid for Geddo a few days ago and the Egypt ace looks desperate to make the move.

"Lyon are a great team and it’s a honor for me to join them, but I am waiting for my club's decision," the Nations Cup top scorer told FilGoal.com.

"I really want to play in the Champions League as it is the strongest club-competition in the world."

After his scintillating form in Angola 2010, Geddo has been the subject of intense speculation linking him with several European clubs.

However, the story that made the headlines regarding the Egypt forward's future was his controversial signing for Zamalek before heading to Angola.

Geddo admitted signing a contract with the Whites in January, shortly before extending his stay with Ittihad until 2011.

Eventually, the Egyptian FA ruled in favor of Ittihad in the contractual dispute, only for Zamalek to insist they 'will not give up on their rights'.

It remains to be seen whether the 25-year-old will be able to move elsewhere, amid Zamalek firm stance.
