The Gunners were written off earlier in the season when they trailed in the title race by 11 points.

However, their steady progress saw them top the table after beating West Ham United 2-0 on Saturday despite playing with ten men for more than half the match.

"We have a good chance to do it this year," Frenchman Wenger, who has been managing Arsenal since 1996, said.

"We want to win the trophy because we are all conscious we have won nothing yet. The hunger, the talent and I think the nerves are there."

Arsenal, who will face Spanish giants Barcelona in the Champions League quarter finals, won the last of their 13 English league titles in 2004.

They have not lifted any silverware since winning the FA Cup the following year.
