Flavio, who spent four glamorous seasons in Cairo, left for Shabab last summer after announcing his desire to leave the Red Devils.

"It (Ahli return) will be most welcomed. Ahli are a club that gave me everything. If they want me I would run back," Flavio told Emirate magazine Super.

While speaking of his love for his old club, the 30-year-old rubbished his reported link with the Ahli's arch-rivals Zamalek.

"There was no contact with Zamalek and I don’t think I would ever join them because I love Ahli and my spell with the club was the best in my career," he added.

"I owe Ahli. I know that Ahli fans love me and I have the same feeling for them, so out of respect for the fans, I would never join a rival club."

Flavio enjoyed a fine debut season with Shabab as he scored eight league goals for the Riyadh outfit, who finished fourth of the Saudi league.
