Local reports have suggested that Petrojet, who compete with Zamalek for the league's second place which brings a spot in the African Champions League, are lining up a bid for forgotten striker Ashraf.

"I don't know if Petrojet contacted Ashraf, but they did not table any official offer for him," Hassan, the twin brother of Zamalek's head coach Hossam Hassan, told FilGoal.com.

"Maybe they are interested, but they did now show that. There are no talks between the boards of both clubs."

Ashraf, who has scored four goals so far this season, was the preferred choice of former Zamalek coach Henri Michel upfront but he fell down the pecking order following the arrival of Hossam Hassan in November last year.

Hassan opted to rely on Ahmed Gaafar as a lone striker. Gaafar is Zamalek's top scorer with eight goals.

With Amr Zaki returning to Zamalek and Mido linked with a move back to his boyhood club, Ashraf might seek to leave in the summer in search of regular first-team football.
