Harras Hodoud are set to lose goalkeeper Mathurin Kameni for at least six months due to a knee injury.

The injury turned out to be worse than first thought as scans proved that the Cameroonian has torn the anterior cruciate ligament.

"Scans showed it’s a cruciate ligament tear. He will undergo surgery soon," Hodoud doctor Reda Al-Hamimi told FilGoal.com.

The injury means that Kameni's future with Hodoud is as good as over, knowing that the 32-year-old's contract runs out next summer.

Moreover, the Alexandrian club will not be allowed to offer him an extension after the Egyptian FA's foreign-goalkeeper embargo on clubs.

Reserve keeper Ali Farag is now set to take over in Hodoud's remaining two league games, as well as the African Confederation Cup.
