Amr Zaki has played his first game, a testimonial match for Tersana's retired player Momen Abdul-Ghaffar, after ending an unsuccessful loan spell with English side Hull City.

The combative striker, whose niggling injuries brought his Hull adventure to a premature end, was introduced as a second-half substitute in Zamalek's 1-1 draw with Tersana on Friday.

He is aiming to regain fitness and sharpness in time for Zamalek's Egyptian Cup campaign.

Zaki, who spent the first half of the season at Zamalek before joining Hull in January, will be eligible to take part in the Cairo giants' remaining competitive games of the season once he receives his International Transfer Certificate (ITC).

Coach Hossam Hassan is likely to rely on him as he bids to win his first title with the White Knights after taking over at the club in November last year.

Zamalek have all but ensured a second-place finish in the Egyptian Premier League behind champions and arch-rivals Ahli, which will give them a place in next season's African Champions League.

Their only chance of silverware this season lies in the Egyptian Cup, which they won in 2008.

Zamalek open their campaign against second-division side Fayoum and are expected to face Ahli in the following round.
