"I have always said that, in the end, the overall package must be right. I have that feeling with Dynamo," the former Germany striker said on his website.

"One aspect is certainly the financial one—to say anything else would be hypocritical.

"it would be wrong and arrogant to underrate Russian football—there are sporting reasons for the (Russian) league too … the results of recent years speak for themselves."

Kuranyi, whose contract with Schalke expires at the end of June, scored 18 goals to help his side finish runners-up to Bundesliga winners Bayern Munich and qualify for the Champions League.

Germany coach Joachim Loew, who expelled Kuranyi from the team's squad in October 2008 for disciplinary reasons, decided against including him in the World Cup squad.
