Ismaili defender Moatasem Salem had his transfer request turned down as the Dervishes' coaching staff believe that his services are indispensable.
The 29-year-old center-half, who was approached by Ahli and Zamalek of late, wanted to leave Ismaili because of a 'personal issue' that entails moving to Cairo.
However, the coastal club are determined to keep hold of him.
"The club's board met with the technical staff and decided not to let Salem go," Ismaili spokesman Alaa Wahid told FilGoal.com.
The robust player's deal with Ismaili expires in 2013. He could only depart by mutual consent as his contract doesn't include a release clause.
Salem said he had to move to the Egyptian capital for the sake of his son, without elaborating any further.
