Egypt defender Saied, who joined Zamalek from Ismaili in the summer of 2008, was a regular starter during his first season with the White Knights.

However, he lost his starting berth after Hossam Hassan took charge of the Cairo giants midway through last season.

In the close season, highly-rated coach Hassan revealed his intention of dispensing with Saied and several other players.

Shortly afterwards, the Dervishes approached Zamalek in an attempt to bring back the 30-year-old.

"Negotiations are already underway and now we are waiting for Zamalek to determine their financial demands," an Ismaili official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told FilGoal.com.

Two-time Nations Cup winner Saied is yet to comment on Ismaili's overtures.
