The 28-year-old believes that he's on top of the Spanish giants' wish list, and hopes they will table an offer for him soon.

However, Brazil's Maicon assured that for the time being, the World Cup is his main priority.

"I want to play at Real Madrid, it's everything that I desire. It would be an honour to be part of this team and a great opportunity for my career," He told AS.

"My priority right now is Brazil and arriving at the World Cup in the best form. We hope to have a great tournament and finish as champions.

"But I can say that I am proud that a club like Real Madrid are interested in me.

"It's something important that fills me with hopes, but I repeat that my priority now is Brazil."
