The electric winger met with Zamalek board of directors before announcing he will stay till his contract with the Cairo club expires.

"Shikabala told us that the agency representing him sent this request without consulting with him first," a Zamalek spokesman said.

Belgian giants Anderlecht are interested in signing Shikabala, 24, who can leave Zamalek after paying the buy-out clause, according to FIFA regulations.

"Shikabala still dreams of playing in Europe, but he said he will only leave with the club's consent," added the spokesman.
