Ismaili are on the brink of signing Zamalek defender Hani Saied, according to club vice-chairman Hammad Mousa.

"Hani Saied could be an Ismaili player very soon," Mousa told FilGoal.com on Thursday.

The Egyptian international, who won two African Cup of Nations trophies, was put on the transfer list by Zamalek coach Hossam Hassan.

A classic sweeper, Saied failed to fit into Hassan's 4-2-3-1 formation, which was the secret behind Zamalek's comeback from the 13th place to finish second.

Several clubs are interested in signing Saied, who appears to prefer a return to Ismaili, whom he left for Zamalek two years ago.

Ismaili are revamping their whole back line after also signing former Ahli and Ittihad Alexandria skipper Shadi Mohamed as well as Telecom Egypt defender Mohamed Younes.

Ismaili, who finished third this season, hope to keep international goalie Essam Al-Hadari, who was keen on a move to Belgium side Lierse.
