Libyan president Muammar Gaddafi renewed his scathing attack on FIFA, calling the football governing body a 'corrupt' organization of 'mafia'.

Speaking at a ceremony to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the withdrawal of US troops from Libya in June 1970, Gaddafi said about FIFA: "We condemn this global mafia, this corrupt organization."

"The corrupt politics of this organization must be fought and we will fight it regularly."

Back in 2006, Gaddafi labeled FIFA as a 'slave market' that favors rich countries over poor ones.

Libya were one of the countries who failed in their bid to host the 2010 World Cup, eventually staged in South Africa.
