Ramzi Saleh left Ahli by mutual consent and joined Sudanese giants Merreikh, the Palestinian keeper said on Wednesday.

"I penned a two-year contract with Merreikh. I will earn EGP five million during those two seasons," Saleh told FilGoal.com.

"Merreikh are a strong team who have a great history. I will do my best to help them win local and African titles."

The 29-year-old joined Ahli from Palestinian side Shbab Jbalia in the summer of 2008 to understudy Amir Abdul-Hamid following Essam Al-Hadari's acrimonious departure few months earlier.

He overtook Abdul-Hamid as Ahli's first-choice keeper in the latter stages of the 2008/2009 season but failed to impress.

Saleh fell down the pecking order last season and his chances of playing regular football were further dampened when the Egyptian champions signed Sherif Ekrami in January.

Former Feyenoord man Ekrami is Ahli's current regular guardian, with Ahmed Adel playing second-fiddle to him.

The Red Devils have also signed Mansoura's promising goalkeeper Mahmoud Aboul-Saoud last week.
