The Spanish giants, who won the Primera Liga title last season, have recently sold Ukrainian defender Dmitro Chygrynskiy to Shakhtar Donetsk for €15 million to alleviate their financial worries.

Their Ivorian midfielder Yaya Toure also departed to join English side Manchester City but Barcelona are still eyeing more solutions to their financial problems.

"We found a club in debt, with liquidity problems," Rosell, who succeeded Joan Laporta as Barca president last week, said in an interview with Sport.

"At this point we have to take a loan to pay the wages of the players. The squad were supposed to be paid at the end of last month and still haven't been.

"We'll fix a loan of €150m. The banks know that we have a business plan that will allow them to recover the money.

"The club is not bankrupt because it generates income."

Despite their ongoing problems, Barcelona are still tracking Arsenal's Spanish midfielder Cesc Fabregas.

They had an initial bid turned down by the English side, who said more than once that Fabregas was not for sale.
