The summer transfer saga of Geddo could end on Monday when an Egyptian FA committee makes a final decision over whether his move to Ahli was legitimate.

The Egyptian champions stirred controversy when they signed Geddo, who looked Zamalek-bound few months earlier, from Alexandria-based club Ittihad.

The Egypt forward admitted that he signed a deal to join Zamalek last January when his initial contract with Ittihad was due to expire at the end of the season.

He was deemed a national hero after scoring five goals to play a key role in Egypt's unprecedented third successive African Cup of Nations triumph in Angola.

He still made headlines after he returned home, but for the wrong reasons.

He extended his contract with Ittihad after apparently turning a blind eye towards the deal he penned with Zamalek to land himself into hot water with the White Knights.

He further infuriated Zamalek after opting to join their arch-rivals Ahli in the close season.

The Egyptian FA imposed a short-term ban on Geddo until they deliver their final verdict, which will be announced on Monday.

Ahli insist they legally acted in an appropriate way by reaching an agreement with Ittihad over the 26-year-old's transfer.

Geddo, who is likely to miss Sunday's Egyptian Super Cup game between Ahli and Harras Hodoud, could be punished for signing two deals with Ittihad and Zamalek at the same time.

According to the Egyptian FA's regulations, such infringement of rules will result in a fine.

Zamalek, who appear resigned to the fact that Geddo would not be playing for them in the new season, demand a financial compensation.
