Local media reported that the 22-year-old Brazilian lost control of his sports car after leaving a night club in Braga.

"I thought he was dead. My brother dragged him out of the car, and we put out the flames before the entire car burned down," one of the witnesses told Jornal de Noticias.

Anderson is currently on rehab following cruciate ligament surgery. He is expected back in September.
