"I wouldn't be exaggerating if I said that no player in the Egyptian Premier League is as skillful as Sayoud," the 33-year-old midfielder told Algerian paper Al-Hadaf.

"He's a great player and I want him to be patient. I'm sure he will be a regular figure at Ahli once has been given the chance to play."

The talented playmaker has been poised to quit Ahli in the wake of the tense rivalry that escalated between his nation and Egypt in last year's World Cup qualifying stage.

In the January transfer window Ahli loaned Sayoud to Kuwait's Arabi, where the teenager raised some eyebrows before returning to the Cairo giants in the close season.

Sayoud made a competitive debut to remember with Ahli nearly a year ago and was highly praised by pundits and fans alike.

He was widely expected to blossom at the Egyptian champions but his progress was curtailed as a result of the tension that followed Egypt's 1-0 loss to Algeria in November's World Cup decider.

Sayoud is now set for a fresh start at Ahli, after the ties between both countries have notably improved.
