The talented 24-year-old missed Egypt's 6-3 friendly victory over DR Congo on Wednesday due to a groin injury.

Zamalek said he came through Thursday's training session unscathed and would be available for the team's second league game at home to Petrojet, who finished fifth last season.

Shikabala took part in the White Knights' opening 2-2 draw at Harras Hodoud. Petrojet suffered a 1-0 defeat by Ismaili in their first match under new coach Helmi Toulan.

Anderlecht have recently demanded that the Egyptian FA send them the International Transfer Certificate (ITC) of Shikabala despite Zamalek's insistence that they would not sell him.

The Belgian side insist Shikabala invoked article 17 of FIFA's regulations to join them without the consent of Zamalek.

The article states that players who have already served three years of their existing contract - or two years in the case of players aged 28 or over - could buy out the remaining time of their deal.

Belgian media quoted Shikabala as saying that he wants to leave Zamalek and join Anderlecht. He declines to speak to Egyptian media about the headline-grabbing matter.
