Liberian striker Francis Doe should deliver the goods as soon as possible to avoid falling further down the pecking order, Ahli coach Hossam Al-Badri said on Friday.

The 24-year-old has failed to establish himself at the Egyptian champions since joining last summer on a free transfer.

He is mainly used as a substitute but the departure of Emad Meteb could give him more chances to prove his worth given that Al-Badri has few marksmen at his disposal.

"Doe works hard during training but that is not reflected on the pitch," Al-Badri, who steered Ahli to a sixth successive league title in his first season in charge last term, said on the club's official website.

"I hope that he can have the time needed to make an impact and show his true worth.

"Otherwise, we will look for a new striker in the coming period. Doe should be careful."

Doe scored four goals in Ahli's triumphant league campaign last season but he struggled to win over the Red Devils' faithful.

He missed Ahli's opening league game against Police Union, which ended goalless, due to injury.

Mohamed Talaat was deployed as a lone striker while newly-arrived Lebanese frontman Mohamed Ghaddar was introduced in the second half for his maiden Ahli appearance.
