According to the Red Devils' official website, the driver lost control of the vehicle, which was headed to a training pitch designated for the Egyptian champions.

It was reported that the bus was close to skidding off the road and overturning but eventually stopped safely.

Ahli's football director Hadi Khashaba said: "The incident only lasted for seconds but caused widespread nervousness.

"We asked JS Kabylie to send us a new bus and they did right away."

Ahli play their next CAF Champions League game at the Algerian outfit on Sunday.

A victory would hugely bolster Ahli's chances of reaching the semi-finals, with the Cairo giants in Group B second spot on four points, two adrift of leaders Kabylie.
