A row erupted at the end of Kabylie-Ahli clash

Ahli have lodged an official complaint to CAF following the events that marred their Champions League visit to Algeria's JS Kabylie, the Cairo club said.

The Egyptian champions' 1-0 defeat in Tizi Ouzou was overshadowed by violent incidents on and off the pitch, despite the warm reception that preceded.

The complaint included various points which, according to Ahli, had a significant impact on the final score of the group stage game.

The six-time African champions said the team bus was attacked by supporters of the home club, before and after the match.

They claim that striker Osama Hosni suffered an eye injury during the attack which caused a minor damage in the bus window.

Ahli also complained against the behavior of Kabylie fans on the field, claiming they kept aiming at players using bottles and fireworks and deliberately distracted goalkeeper Sherif Ekrami.

The file included pictures of stewards getting involved in an 'inexplicable scuffle' with Ahli players after Mohamed Shawky's disallowed goal.

Finally, Ahli asked the African football governing body to take action against match referee Kokou Djaoupe.

The Cairo giants believe the Togolese official's decisions were biased towards the home team, which saw him cut the time added on to only four minutes and send captain Hossam Ghaly off for an unknown reason.

The match coordinator was also held responsible by the Reds for ignoring the team on several occasions when his presence was much-needed.
