Anderlecht said earlier this month that they would take the matter to world governing body (FIFA) after Zamalek refused to let the talented winger join them in the close season.

They believed Shikabala could invoke article 17 of FIFA's regulations to depart without Zamalek's consent.

The article states that players who have already served three years of their existing contract - or two years in the case of players aged 28 or over - could buy out the remaining time of their deal.

But Zamalek managed to prolong the stay of Shikabala, who kissed the club's badge after scoring a remarkable goal in the 2-0 Egyptian Premier League victory over Petrojet last week.

"Shikabala has already put pen to paper during a meeting with the club's board members," Zamalek football director Ibrahim Hassan told Modern TV.

"The whole matter has finally ended."

The new Zamalek deal could leave Shikabala in hot water if Anderlecht decided to pursue their claim for the player's services.

The 24-year-old might be suspended by FIFA for signing for two clubs at the same time.

Anderlecht had two bids for the Egyptian international turned down by Zamalek, who were determined to keep hold of their prized asset.

Shikabala has been an integral member of Zamalek's squad since rejoining his boyhood club in 2006 after ending a two-year spell with Greek side PAOK.
